Best You owner, Jennifer McCracken, has been a trusted personal trainer within the community for 15 years. She has a Bachelors Degree in Sports Management and Exercise Science, multiple certifications, and has been competing in bodybuilding and figure competitions since 1999. After many years of working in the industry, Jena decided she needed to reach more individuals and develop a team of professionals that are truly passionate about helping others, so in 2013 Best You was born. Jena truly enjoys helping others reach their fitness goals, she believes through motivation and dedication you really can have the body you have always wanted, you just have to be willing to work for it. Jena is also a very strong believer in the importance of proper nutrition. She has many years of experience in nutritional counseling and she has guided many individuals to success, ranging from mothers with post-baby weight, to figure competitors winning competitions. She is known to give a out a dose of "tough love", every now and then, but only because she knows in the end, her clients will be happy she did.
Paul has been working in the fitness industry since 1993. He has a Bachelor of Science degree from Salem State College, and is a certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and Personal Trainer through the National Strength and Conditioning Association. He trains people from all walks of life with many and varied goals, including, weight loss, sculpting, strengthening, sports conditioning for baseball, softball, tennis and golf, building an exercise habit, better rejuvenation, and healthy lifestyle development. He also trains people with health concerns such as heart disease, diabetes, intervertebral disc issues, stenosis, hip and knee pain, and multiple sclerosis. Paul has been exercising as part of a healthy lifestyle since 1977 and enjoys hiking, natural bodybuilding and weightlifting.
Before deciding to turn her love of fitness into a career, Audra worked in corporate America for 10 years, and then decided she needed to make a change for her own personal health. In 2005 Audra became a certified yoga instructor through Yogafit. She also specializes in prenatal, senior, and kids yoga. After much success and enjoyment as a yoga instructor, Audra decided that fitness was her path and helping people made her thrive. She then went on to become a certified personal trainer through ACSM, and she is also certified through Balanced Body USA in Barre, Mat Pilates,and the Pilates reformer. Audra not only is a personal trainer, but also take Pilates reformer clients. Audra has a Bachelors degree in Sociology and Spanish from UMASS Amherst, and a Masters degree from UMASS Lowell in criminal justice.
Turning 50 recently, Jacky decided to take her love of health and fitness training to the next level by joining the Best You training team. She is a firm believer that you can be fit and fabulous at any age, especially 50! She has trained with Jena and Paul over the last 10 years, and has seen the huge benefits of personal training, learning how to make the most out of every exercise and every gym visit. This year Jacky decided to get her personal training certification through the NASM, and begin helping others, and sharing that knowledge. Jacky is also the mother of three adult girls, two who have completed college and one a senior in high school, so she fully understands the challenges of balancing a busy schedule and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Her interests, other than fitness, include reading, gardening, and skiing (when it's not too cold out!). She looks forward to helping clients enjoy their training experience while working hard to achieve their fitness goals.
Laura hated the thought of exercise and was addicted to all the wrong foods. She was overweight, sedentary, lethargic and depressed. Making one small change at a time, she transformed her life. Now she is addicted to exercise and loves a variety of healthy foods. Knowing first hand how much fitness enhances every aspect of your life, it is her mission to help others change their lives one workout at a time. Laura has now been a fitness instructor for eight years and currently teaches Barre, Boxing, Spin, Senior formats, Strength, Tabata, Pilates, and is a certified Pilates Reformer instructor. She has also recently decided to pursue her personal training certification through NASM and NCCPT. High Intensity Interval Training is her favorite way to burn fat and build lean muscle mass. She is also an avid runner, running one to three marathons a year. As a single mother of two, Laura knows you do not just have the time, you have to make it! Laura is passionate about building a connection with every client in order to fine tune a strategy somewhere between baby stets and maximum effort, using a variety of exercises. She would love to whip you into shape in a way that is both challenging and fun.
Charlie has been in the fitness industry since college while getting his degree in Exercise Science as well as certifications in Personal Training, Nutrition, and Sport Nutrition. Started working with athletes, young and old, primarily on sports performance and injury recovery. After graduating he dived deeper into the field working with various physical therapists, strength conditioning coaches, and nutrition coaches. A firm believer in eliminating muscle imbalances, the proper implementation of strength training, and pushing the body to make real solid changes. The body can’t change in a day but with enough dedication, the proper amount of guidance, and right amount of sweat Charlie believes that anyone can have their own success story.
